On Tuesday, the Sudanese ambassador to Addis Ababa, Al-Zein Ibrahim, discussed the conditions of Sudanese refugees in the Olala and Komer camps in the Amhara region in northern Ethiopia.

During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Zein conveyed to the representatives of the High Commission the decision of the Sudanese Emergency Committee, headed by the Minister of Finance, to respond to the desire of Sudanese refugees who wish to voluntarily return to their homeland, and to discuss the necessary arrangements for this step.

The Humanitarian Emergency Committee in Sudan held its meeting in late June, headed by Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, Minister of Finance, and reviewed the situation of Sudanese refugees in the Ethiopian Amhara region bordering Sudan, who are located in the Olala and Comer camps and the surrounding area.

The committee welcomed the announcement by some refugees of their desire to voluntarily return to Sudan as soon as possible.

The committee confirmed that it will work in coordination with the Ethiopian government and competent organizations to visit Sudanese refugees in the Olala and Comer camps.
