The celebrations of the Sudanese community and embassy in Addis Ababa on the occasion of the glorious Independence Day, on its 68th anniversary, which were held at the Sudanese Club in the Sar Beit suburb of Addis Ababa over the past three days, concluded yesterday evening, Monday, January 1.

The celebration included exhibitions, celebrations, various sports activities and a health day, in which a large number of Sudanese residing in Ethiopia participated. Various Sudanese cultures were reflected through the presentation of Sudanese foods and drinks, in addition to some heritage items.

At the end of the celebratory program, singing and hymns were presented in which a group of students from the Sudanese School in Addis Ababa participated.

Many Ethiopian figures who have good relations with the Ethiopian people were honored, most notably Ambassador Mahmoud Dirir and the former Ethiopian ambassador to Khartoum, Shiferaw Garso.

The closing day included a sports program in which members of the Sudanese community in Ethiopia participated, and a football match was held for the Independence Cup between the community youth team and the Kush Travel Agency team, and the result was the victory of the Kush Travel Agency team over the community youth. The final match was held on Monday morning between the community team and the Kush Agency team, which ended with the victory of the community team.
